5 important check before buying a second hand vehicle.

If a car become a necessity and couldn't afford a brand new model, perhaps now you can get a second hand at its depreciated price. But buying a used vehicle has its drawback. The reliability of second hand car depends on the vehicle's engineering standards, the mileage of the vehicle, and the previous owner driving and maintenance habits.

Here some 5 important check you need to do before buying a second hand vehicle.

1. Check for the vehicle mileage.
The higher the mileage, the more parts worn out that will need some replacements. Car parts such as the brake pad, fuel filter, transmission, radiator and AC compressor begin to worn out at around 60,000 to 70,000 km mark.

2. Checking for the engine pressure.

Open the engine oil filler cap while the engine is running. If there is a pressure when strong vacuum or suction it means that the engine pressure is 100% good. But if the smoke puff out, valve seal is defective and need to be replace as soon as possible.

3. Examine for the car piston ring.
Doing this is by pulling out the engine oil deep stick, it doesn't have a smell of a petrol. And if smoke came out it means the car may have a defective piston ring.

4. Check for the radiator liner or block crack.

To examine the car radiator, you need to turn off the engine, open the radiator cup and turn the engine running again. If there's a pressure and the radiator fluid start to came out, radiator liner or radiator block has a crack on it. Normal radiator can hold the fluid even the engine is running.

5. Checking for the flooded vehicle.

Open the vehicle dashboard and look for the rusted screws and bolts. If you find a rusted screw or bolts on the car dashboard, it means that the car sunk on the flood a year ago or later date.
