Gas pedal hard to push down or sticking
Cause of Sticking Pedal When I press the accelerator or gas pedal, the initial touch requires a some force, were I almost have to stomp on the gas pedal to get it to go. So on my garage I try spraying some WD40 on the accelerator wire and spring that was exposed thinking it was just friction issue. But nothings happens. It ended up for me to hit the search engine for the possible solutions and found a very simple one. The problem was the butterfly valve that allows air into the engine is getting stuck with carbon deposits. To deal with this problem you will need the following; Carburetor Cleaner An old Toothbrush Some Paper Towels Phillips Screwdriver Start cleaning by opening up the hood, and look for the large black flex pipe that runs from your air filter to the top of the engine. There should be a metal wire on a pulley near where this pipe connects. To remove the hose, loosen up the hose clamp with the screwdriver.
