New Teeth Six months is the average age for baby's first tooth to appear, but this is quite variable. Some babies have teething symptoms starting as early as two months. They include drooling, irritability, chomping on objects, discomfort with sucking, diaper rash and looser stools, and night waking. Even a low fever and a cough can develop when baby is teething.
