Roadside Repairs: Wheel changing How to

This roadside repair article is all about tire changing to the question "how to change vehicle wheel?" 

In every repair you do with your car or truck, always attention to safety. If your on the road, don't change a wheel in a where you in risk of being hit by other vehicle. On express way, try to reach the lay-bay or toll plaza. Be alert on passing vehicle while changing your vehicle wheel.

Tyre Changing Roadside Preparation

If wheel is punctured, slow down and look for safe place to stop. If possible, park your car or truck on the level surface away from any other vehicle and turn on hazard lights to warn other road user. To ensure safety, engage the handbrake and first or reverse gear for manual transmission vehicle while engage park (P) on automatic transmission vehicle.

If you have early warning device on your trunk, use warning triangle to warn other driver about your presence in the area.  

If it does in rainy season and ground is muddy, use a flat piece of wood to spread the weight under the jack.

How to use a jack?

Place the jack head on the reinforced metal. Don't engage jack on any part of your engine, it will create huge damage. 

Turn jack handle clockwise or pump it until the wheel raised clear up the ground. Unscrew all four wheel bolts and take off the wheel.

Put in the spare wheel and screw on all the four nuts. Tighten the bolts, then carefully lower the car or truck back to the ground. Re tighten wheel nuts with 103 Nm torque. 

Check the pressure of the newly replace tire. If you think its low, slowly drive to nearest repair shop or pumping station to fill your tyre with the standard pressure, use hazard light of doing so.
