Most fuel efficient non-hybrid car: 2015 Ford Fiesta 1.0L Hatchback Review


2015 Ford Fiesta is the most fuel efficient non-hybrid car I come across and the very first 3 cylinder vehicle produce by ford.

Its features is unchanged, from Europe and North America to Philippines. On the inside is an upscale looking dashboard considering this its a sub compact car, and the trunk in the back is a very good size, very deep you can actually put lot of stuff down there. The one shortfall of these car is backseat is relatively small.

What makes this car special is, it is the the very first 3 cylinder vehicle made by ford. It's engine is turbo charge. Ford uses a turbo with low inertia rotors, it means that the turbo charger can spool up much quicker. Maximum torque on this engine comes with 2500 rpm, a mid range torque. In addition it got variable valve timing direct injection. But a biggest problem when it comes with any 3 cylinder engine is vibration and noise, but not with this ford. Thanks to it's advanced engineering where they made it's pulley and fly wheel unbalanced with weight to counter act the natural shaking of the engine. Ford also immerse its timing belt with oil to adsorb noise.

Start the car and put it in an idle, feel no vibration at all. Put it into a gear and get into horse power, remember this car is 1.0L turbo charge engine but it comes up with 123hp (where the regular 1.6 car puts out 120hp) and its got 125 pounds per feet torque (a regular 1.6 car had only 111 pound per feet torque.) much more torque that comes only with 2500 rpm.

    Fuel efficient hybrid cars are now days more in demand; therefore every automobile brands are now producing their own hybrid vehicles to beat others. Ford which is known as a popular automobile brand is now producing its own hybrid cars. I really appreciate this effort by Ford and I hope Ford hybrid vehicles are breaking the record of other hybrid cars.
