ABS (Anti-lock brake system)

Anti-lock Braking System
ABS or Anti-lock brake system also known as Controller Anti-lock brake. ABS is a vehicle brake system safety features that is usually controlled electronically. Design to prevent the wheels from locking up during braking and relieves hydraulic at wheels that are about to skid.

How ABS works?

When the driver fully apply the brakes, without the anti-lock brake system (ABS) the brakes can lock, this makes the wheel to stop turning that result to tyre skid. Skidding tire have a very little grip, and are not effective on stopping or turning the vehicle. So the driver will not able to take an evasive action.

While with ABS installed, when the driver fully applies the brake, the system sensor uses to detect any brake lock and rapidly pulses brake to prevent from locking. This helps to prevent skidding, so the tyre can maintain grip on the ground and also allows to driver to stir away from danger while braking.

One way think of ABS is allow braking and steering.
